Calendars: Introduction

Community calendars are an ideal location for time-sensitive information such as meetings, reminders, and project milestones. Each community supports multiple calendars. When more than one calendar is set up, a "Community Calendar" will also appear that shows all entries combined. The calendars fully support international time zones, as well as, recurring entries for regular events or meetings.

List View

This view provides a quick outlook at upcoming events. It is not confined by a date range but simply lists the next 25 entries present in the entire calendar. The date specified is the start date for the list (it is inclusive).

Using the drop-down box in the upper-left corner, you can choose to view entries from a particular calendar or all entries together. To view all entries, select the "General" Calendar.

Month View

This view provides an overview of calendar entries in a traditional monthly calendar format. Given constraints in page size, most entries' names will be truncated. If a short name was specified, it will be displayed instead of the full entry name.

Select a day by clicking its date (ie. click 17 for the 17th day of the month) and you will be taken to the Day View for the selected day.

To view the detail of any entry, click on its name.

Today's date will be highlighted in yellow. To jump quickly to the current month, click the "Today" button at the top of the page. Any other date can be quickly accessed by selecting a new date and pressing the "View" button.

Week View

This view provides a 7-day view starting on the Sunday of that particular week. Selecting the day of the week in the first column will take you directly to that particular day's daily view.

Multi-day events are represented at the top of the view in their own multi-day area. Full-day or partial-day entries will appear next to the day that they occur.

Today's date will be highlighted in yellow. To jump quickly to the current week, click the "Today" button at the top of the page. Any other date can be quickly accessed by selecting a new date and pressing the "View" button.

Day View

This view provides a 24-hour breakdown of the day starting at midnight. Selecting a specific hour in the first column will take you directly to the entry form. The selected day and hour will be pre-set for the entry with a duration of one hour.

All-day and multi-day events are represented at the top of the view in their own sections. Partial day entries will appear next to the hour closest to their start time.
