CommunityZero®Help
Community founders and administrators can enable a "subscription" feature within the Tasks tool from the subscription settings section in Administration area. Once enabled, it allows community members to stay more informed of on-going projects and can help improve overall community participation. When subscribed to a project, community members receive e-mail notifications when tasks or sub-projects have been added or when a posting date has been updated to "today".
Administrators may add a prefix to the subject line of a subscription e-mail. This way, the subscribed projects will be easily identifiable.

Subscription configuration settings in Administration area
The following functions comprise the Task Manager subscription feature:
Task Manager Subscriptions
Community participants can subscribe to individual projects and set reminders for specific tasks (see "Task Reminders" for further information on setting reminders). New or updated tasks and sub-projects within projects will trigger a notification to subscribed users that includes the updated information. The message will also provide links to view the project or task directly in the community.
Subscription Management
Community founders, administrators and users provided with the right to manage subscriptions can subscribe and unsubscribe others to projects as well as to the tool itself. This may be done through the selection of either membership groups or individual members.
A very important aspect of this capability is the ability to set default group subscription settings at the tool level. For example: a community founder can establish default settings such that all users of particular membership group are automatically subscribed to projects even before new projects are created.
Subscription management at the Tasks tool level
A user that has the right to manage subscriptions will see an additional "Subscriptions" button in the gray toolbar while viewing the Task Manager tool.
Clicking on the "Subscriptions" toolbar button while viewing a project allows the user to see the project subscriptions page. Here, the system displays who is subscribed and who has opted out. Users with the correct permissions can add and remove individual users or groups from the subscribed base of members.
Subscription management at the Project level
Founders and administrators have the ability to share the subscription management permissions with other members. To provide this permission, founder/administrators (or users with "modify permissions" right over the tasks tool) should access the Membership Groups section of the community administration area. Grant "Manage Subscriptions" to one or more membership groups. This permission right is set for the entire tool.
View a specific project to which you would like to be subscribed. Next,
click the subscribe button
. The button will appear depressed
to indicate that the subscription is active. If the button
does not appear at all, the feature is not enabled.
Founders, administrators and members with the "Manage Subscription" permissions have an additional way to subscribe themselves and others. While viewing a project, they may click the "Subscriptions" button in the gray toolbar and assign their membership group to that project. A list of "not subscribed" users will be available for selection and subscription.
Users can cancel project subscriptions by viewing a project and clicking
on the Subscribe button
to deactivate the subscription.
When the subscription has been deactivated, the green dot will become
gray and the button will appear raised
.
Founders, administrators and members with the "Manage Subscription" permission have a second way to unsubscribe themselves and others. While viewing a project, they may click the "Subscriptions" button in the gray toolbar to access a list of subscribed users. Then, they may select themselves and/or other users to unsubscribe from the project.
