Content View Counts

Communities automatically track the number of times content items have been viewed. These view counts can be displayed within the community, and are also included in folder and search sorting.  View counts provide a visual indication of content popularity to community members.

Where do View Counts Appear?

The view counts for content items appear in several areas of the community:

Important: View counts will only appear if enabled by community administrators.

How Content View Counts are Incremented

Once a community member accesses the detail view of a content item, its view count will increment by one, which will immediately be reflected on the respective page.  However, if the same content item is viewed within the current web-browser session, its view count will not be incremented.

Accessing a page of notes will cause the view count of each note one that page to increment by one.

Accessing the detailed view of a mailing list or discussion, will cause the view count of each displayed message to be incremented by one.
